Mum & Baby Yoga postnatal Yoga is a 4 week course designed for new Mums who want not only to get back into shape following birth, but also enjoy a practice where your baby is welcome!
The postnatal course will focus on building up your core strength and reducing the recovery time from birth. It will encourage your body to regain strength in your back and openness in your shoulders and neck. Gentle, but strong, the class will get you moving to help create space in the upper part of your body, and work on stabilising your hips and pelvis, whilst your baby enjoys wondering what you're doing!
You must wait at least six weeks after giving birth before attending a postnatal class and we strongly advise getting your Doctor's approval before starting exercise again (of any form) after giving birth.
No previous Yoga experience necessary, this course is unheated and suitable for you to bring your baby too, who will rest at the end of your mat for most of the class, but who will also get to enjoy being involved in some of the moves :-)
Please note that there is likely to be some baby-initiated noise in this class! It is a very welcoming class, relaxed and friendly, and also a great place to meet other Mums!
Suitable for babies that are between 40 days and 1 year old. If your baby is already independently mobile before the age of 1, then unfortunately we cannot include them in this course as they tend to want to wander off!
